Im thinking of purchasing a legend. Any truth to what I read over at ak-47.net that there is some kind of issue with the receivers being soft and "breaking up". Any truth to this at all? Im thinking not, but its going to be a big purchase so I want to make sure. Also, the receiver is stamped kfs atlanta georgia, what does this mean? Any Idea? Thanks for any help!

Ya, if you ever read the review on ak-47.net, they put right in the official review for the polytech legend that the receivers have had issues with being soft. They do state that the b-west poly's are the ones primarily with the issue and most of the legends are okay. It's Just wierd I guess, to word it the way they do. Then they follow up by saying its one of the best made. I guess Im just to tough of a critic but the paragraph just comes off as quite contradictory.
Thanks for the input. |

Don't go by that write-up. There's TONS of errors and misinformation in their reference section. Just look at the magazine reference for an example of that. That particular write-up groups the B-West receivers with other Chinese rifles and is written in very general terms. In short, it's poorly written and is misleading. I've had Polytech Legends since the late 1980's and many Polytech rifles in general. I've never seen nor heard of "soft" receivers with Polytech Legends. Get one. Love it. Feed it. Care for it. Never worry about it. |

+1. I wouldn't want to talk negatively about another forum such as the one mentioned with the pretty poor reference sections. Goodness knows how many people have been led astray following some of that information. But for true, accurate information it's probably best to stick with this forum or www.theakforum.net for all your needs. |
