If I was to manufacture my own AK out of a reciever flat would I be able to build it into a pistol even though im 19?  Because the law states at 18 I can posses a pistol but I cant purchase one from a licensed dealer.  I just dont know if it applies when manufacturing your own firearm.

Maybe first I should ask can you build a AK pistol out of a reciever flat?

i am no lawyer...and i don't play one on the net, but i would think that you could build one. you are violatining no law as far as 'buying' one goes. the flat is not a receiver so i would guess that you could legally assemble it.

Thats what I was thinking but I wouldnt want to be a "test case".  Maybe I will write a letter to the ATF technology brach concerning this.

I plan on an AMD65 pistol build from a flat this winter (parts on hand). But I am not 18 or in FL, so your rules may vary.
