Wolf in 54r is made at the LVE plant and good overall. Much better than the other AK ammo.

Heavy ball exerts a rough pressure curve on the gas system to beat these carriers up. 147gr is the accepted good load. If you do use heavy SP ammo, do not shoot it alot and consider a recoil buffer (the ONLY time I suggest one for an AK).

I have not done a serious sort out yet, but have all 3 with decent results. It will be better scoped next week

If you have the oem Romy, there is no hurry to change it. I already had a weaver base 4-8xPSO scored cheap 2 years ago, and recently bought a BP02 bracket. Found the bracket base is a cheapo casting that can't be welded on to, and does not have enough material at the critcal front end spot for a die maker bud to tap for a bolt to use as the stopper for the SVD rail path (dremeling notches in the AK stop at the rear was easy though). Now Yuri at freedomoptics has the SVD base available, which will be swapped on my AK mount. I am also trying a 54r-specific elevation dial. Reports in a few weeks, and note from the ammo eval link that not all 54r flight paths are equal...

PS- for hogs you may prefer the left position of the Romy since it allows instant access to irons if things immediately get close and personal and you do not have time to find a target in a scoped field of view.
