I picked up a POSP 8x42VD rifle scope and have a question. I have mounted this up to my AK and it sits to the side of my rear sight instead of directly over it.

Is this correct?

That's how the commies do it.

Most ex-Sov optics are offset like that.

A combination of doctrines, more heads up shooting, and potential to see irons as backup.

I suggest sighting in for the parallel, same bit left at 100, 200, 300, rather than a crossover point of dead nuts zero.
