So Romania decided Century should not make all the money.

Mabey whoever else brings them over can sell spare parts unlike Crapury.

I also heard that HK will no longer import the SL8....every seller on Gunbroker is saying that. True?

I agree, this is either rhumor (I have been hearing this every week for the last two years from AIM) or it will be short term.  There is just too much money to be made.

Besides the dollar being worth less in most of Europe now, and uncertainty about what the 2004 AWB possible sunset may do to legal configuration, there may actually be truth to the rumor crap. But Romy builds these for export, so they will find a home.

Buying more AKs now does not qualify as panic :)

Have SAR 1&2 and waiting on SAM5 pricing myself after tasting the fruit of Bulgy 74 kits.

I think the SL8 would sell better if you didnt have to spend beaucoup bucks to turn it BACK into the G36. I've seriously contemplated getting one and having it converted to G36 specs with the AR15 mag conversion, but thats like a minimum of $1800 when its all said and done, and damnit, I just dont like a G36 that much. I'll just get me a .223 AK for that money and sink the rest of the money into upgrades and ammo.

It's never a bad time to buy a SAR.....in fact, buy two.....

Krink,

Nice pics.  The one on top looks exactly like my Krebs 103K (Saiga) - see pic.  At 6.5 pounds, it sweeps and acquires nicely.  See pic.

I posted a thread on "The Guns Network" AK about the SAR import ban and here's what I got:

The story is not bull, they are going to stop bringing the SAR's. They have to as they are double wide high cap receivered rifles.

However, a little birdie tells me there will be the WASR's coming in and they will continue to be milled out to be double wide high cap mag capable.

Now that's funny!
The Evil Features Law has not changed in 9 years.

Crapury adds US parts to make them 922r compliant prior to import so the double wide mag well issue is moot from a legal standpoint.  Technically, it is a US and not an imported weapon fot this reason.

They probally wanted to give the Romainians only $5 per rifle insteasd of the $10 or $20 they were asking.

Crapuary are cheap bastards.

Beautiful girls KF.

The one with the bakelite magazine- is that a (pretty much) stock SAR2? Mine has the older style gas block.

Still contemplating an SAR3 to add to my Romanian AKMS and SAR2....I just wish I'd have kept all the Norincos my dad bought me when I started collecting back in my teens. NHM91, MAK90, Mak90 in 223, Norinco 84S, and the SKS-D and Paratrooper I had. I got the SKS-D back the other day, and I never realy cared for the Para, but I wish I'd have kept her none the less...she still had her bayo lug unlike 99% of the ones you see today.

Both of them are SAR3s with muzzle brakes permanently attached.

Maybe it's time to add an SAR-1 and an SAR-3 to the SAR-2 I already own ??????????

(If no more are imported I would have all three and if import continues the prices will likely be higher.  For $600 - $700 I could make a defensive move now and add muzzle brakes, furniture, triggers etc., at my leisure.)
