The one I just picked up wont fit my WASR. It seems to be a little to wide. I have a double stack WASR.

A circle 10 is a rather expensive magazine to take a file to, just to get it to fit a WASR. If you have a bunch of them that you intend to run through your rifle, take the file and open up the magazine well slightly on the gun, no big deal. But beware,  when you insert a steel magazine in the gun, mag wobble will be a bit more, doesn't hurt anything, just some people find it annoying. If it's only 1 circle 10 and you don't mind killing the resale value, then take the file to the sides of it. I run only steel mags through my WASR for the reason your stating, my SGL 21 likes circle 10's

Do you have access to any other AKs to test it in to make sure it's not an oddball out of spec mag?

I have a handful of Circle 10s and they are ever so slightly wider than a surplus steel mag, they fit nice and tight with no wobble in my SGL21.

There are only a few conditions under which I would make permanent changes to a gun to fit a mag, but I will modify a polymer mag in a minute to fit if I have to, even a circle 10. You need to take out the bolt carrier and put the mag in to help spot where its rubbing. Its possible that the magazine guide rails may need some filing, but only if they are improperly machined, such as many single-stack to double-stack mag well conversions. Try your steel mags too. If the steel mags don't scrape anywhere and insert/remove easily, I would not modify the gun. The exception would be if you don't have any steel mags and never plan to use them, but even then I might favor 'adjusting' each magazine to fit a tight mag well. But first, find out what's happening and let us know.
