Just got my first AMD from Atlantic Firearms last week. Here's the problem I am having. It will not take the Bulgarian waffle mags or my 75 rd Romanian drum.
It will take any of my 20 or 30 rd metal mags from various countries. I think I found the problem. Holding the bolt open and inserting the waffle mag I see it is hitting the rivet just below the mag catch with the very rear of the feed lips and stopping it dead in it's tracks. The metal mags just slip by the rivet. I looked at my other AK's (Saiga,Bulgarian,Romanian) and noticed this same rivet is sitting farther back by maybe a mm. Is this normal for an AMD? And does anyone know of a remedy? |
