Hey fellas, I am thinking about building a Micro Galil and have been looking for kits here and there.  I thought Krinks were expensive these little turds are very pricy  Any of you fellas have a good contact for a kit at a reasonable price ???  Thanks, Mark.

I don't think Galil anything and reasonable price go together at all.

Not reasonably priced but its a micro kit.  I've never bought anything from them, so can't comment on their business practices.

Closer to reasonable, but does not include correct folding stock.  Again I haven't done business with hime.

Don't get that parts kit from GunBroker.  It doesn't include the correct micro top cover, the folding knuckle (part #45), the correct folder, and few other parts.  By the time you source those parts from Dano you are over the $2000 mark that BG is selling their COMPLETE kits for.  Trust me, I am still in the process of this build.  I purchased that exact same kit off of GB, then sourced all the remaining parts from Dano (however, still waiting on #45 and without this part I am dead in the water unless I want a micro galil pistol).  Dano said he has one on order, but it has been over a couple months now with no response.  If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't.  Just not worth it.  I have over $2000 in this project and it still hasn't even been built yet!

Heck I will sell you all my parts including ORF micro reciever if you want.

I'm just going with the standard Galil knuckle and stock on my Micro. I know it's not going to be 100% correct, but it doesn't bother me. I've also heard a few negative things about the Micro folder such as it being flimsy and a little hard to operate so maybe having the regular folder on there might be a big plus. Here are a few pics of it:

And the left side charging handle and top cover.

I'm just waiting on ORF to finish it up but from the looks of it, 2006 will be here before it happens.

Jim - how did you attach the standard knuckle to the micro reciever? And where did you get it?

I'm using a standard IMI Galil receiver and had the front part machined to match a Micro. I figure if I ever run across the Micro parts, I can always modify the receiver to use them. I got the folder and knuckle from the person that sold me the parts kit. I can give you his e-mail if you IM me. You might have better luck with him because he was able to find the left side charging handle and top cover for me from which I understand are somewhat of a rarity. BTW, ORF called and it is finished so hopefully I'll have it back sometime next week.

I emailed the guy about 8 months ago and never got a reply.  My guess is it has been closed for awhile.

I figured it was. Best bet would be to call ORF and get their word on it.  Thanks for all the info will keep this build in mind, Mark.

I actually called ORF and talked to Bob and he had no idea what the group buy was about.  Either it was so old that he forgot about it or it never materialized.  I'm leaning towards the latter since I have yet to see on any forum someone post about their Micro Galil that ORF built through the group buy.
