Are you dead set on a mag scope? Your options are to have a side rail installed, or use a dust cover with a weaver rail on top. But the covers are often problematic to keep stable and then re-zero when you remove them for a full cleaning. If you accept a red dot, which is good for the short range nature of the 47, there are rails that go in place of the front handguard. ultimak.com makes one, and TDI makes the other |

I may have to try out one of the red dot at the gun store to see if I can see it well, my sixty years old eyes need glasses to see, but I was counting with the tick reticle of the Leupold shotgun scope 1x 4x that works so well in my others rifles, to avoid using glasses at all. In an emergency situation I will have to get the gun first then the glasses and I was trying to avoid that.
I will try the red spot scope at the store and I will decide. When I have my glasses on I don't have any problems using the iron sights at 50 yards. Thanks for the advice. black bear |

The wonderful thing about a red dot is that there is one thing to focus upon, not a mix of rear sight/front sight/target all at different distances.
A $40 dot will not survive an AK47, but we can type you thru the rest after your test view
