The AKM/1911 combination seems to work well. Both weapons are tested and proven.

I prefer an AK and a S&W 66 combat magnum

An AK and a 1911, outstanding choice for putting foot to ass if need be, anybody able to make greeting cards with pics of both and a caption that reads "When you care enough to send the very best".

That's what I did when I was in El Salvador in the late 80's. I carried a Browning HP and a MP5. Having both use the same ammunition was pretty handy for me.
