| I'm planning to put a slant break on an SAR-1 '00 model and I'm not worried about threading the barrel. I am concerned about replacing the gas block though. I know I need a press but any particular kind? I won't have to mess with the sight tower right? Anyone have a link or done this on their own with pics I'd appreciate it. I'm kinda handy and would rather not enlist the help of a smith. The FAQ was good for starters but I'd like more detail. TIA. |

The front sight and gas block are pressed on and pinned. So you will have to remove the pins and press the front sight off first then the gas block. Press them back on in reverse order and pin them. Most people use one of these type presses.www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=37999 The best price for a press I have seen is at one of those Homier or other brand tent tool sales. |
