This might be a stupid question. It might not. I've spent a few hours searching with no good info, so:

Can you replace a 90 degree gas block with one designed for a 45 degree port, and not have Bad Things happen?

I recently purchased a Bulgarian 74, and the front sight is canted just a tad. I'm not confident in my ability to keep it straight while operating a drill press, so I wasn't excited about trying to make it straight. Yesterday, I came across  a front sight/gas block combo on Kreb's page.

The note mentioned that it is only for 45 degree ports.

It would really make my day to be able to make this work.

Gas port placement in barrel may be located differently. One at angle, one straight.  If so, the placement of hole in gas block replacement may not line up correctly.  I've only removed 45 degree gas blocks so I can't compare for you.
