OK, its been awhile since I've been real excited about AKs, but my enthusiasms are back.

My question is: wasnt there a country that made a 90 degree front gas block that incorporated a front site with protective wings on each side? Wasnt that front sight an AR style front sight? If so, what country made this sight, and what do they go for?

Bulgaria and Russia. They use it on their 105 rifles. Arsenal sells 2 version, the 107CR and the 106CR

They are hard to come by these days and are very expensive when you find them.

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear in my post. Arsenal makes 2 rifles that already incorporate the GB/FS combo. they are the models specified above. That would be the easiest route, assuming you like those calibers.

Atlantic has the 107cr for $1000, the 106cr is probably the same. I prefer the 107, but if you are an ar guy and already have 223 the 106 may be the way to go.

OK, well its apparent this gas block wont work for me. I guess I'll just go with a 90degree gas block and push the front sight tower all the way back.
