I was at a conference on the Microsoft campus. MS was hosting a dinner party and we were sitting around watching the returns (I had voted on an absentee ballot). Curiously enough, couldn't get Balmer or Gates to comment on the election  The Microsurfs were pretty evenly split between Bush/Gore; the smart ones (MS Research guys) were almost 100% Bush. Most of the non-MS folks in attendance were rabid demo's.

I fell alseep around 2am with FoxNews on lying in bed.

I would wake up every hour or so to see who had won.

I was attending a Board of Deacons meeting at church.  I figured by the time I got out around 10:30pm they would have a winner declared.  Boy was I surprised along with the rest of the country about what was going on.

Now back in 1984, I was celebrating election night with fellow classmates in their next door apartment watching "The Great Escape", eyeing the ticker on the bottom of the screen, chewing tobacco and getting drunk.  That was a good one!

I had picked up a 6-pack of Lone Star Beer to drink in celebration of the new resident that would be occupying the White House.  This time I have a 6-pack of Ziegenbock and a 6-pack of Shiner Hefeweizen.  I'm hoping I don't need to go get a keg before we find out who wins.
