I am not quite sure where to post this but this "Build it youself" Seemed the most appropriate. I have 3 AR's and only one AK. I have a Vepr K,I love it but it is a moose. I am considering purchasing a kit of some kind and having it assembled (AK USA does this for $250, and I am not confident enough of my skill level to try it myself)

I am looking for suggestions regarding a good kit to start with and a good assembly service. My concerns are weight and accuracy (I want to stay witht he 7.62 x39 round) I would also like it to look nice as well. What are your suggestions folks

Having just put an AK74 together, I suggest the 5.45 round, and the 74 as a variation of the AK family. This light recoiling round in a fairly light rifle is a real treat. I've had the parts for a while, had I known how pleased I would be with it I would have put one together long before I did. Hell, if we ever need our rifles for serious work, we can always break out the FAL's!!

Well.  Who are you thinking of buying from?  There are lots of places that are selling kits.  Generally you get what you pay for.  Right noe InterOrdinance has a sale on AK kits that seem OK.  The flyer I got in the mail tonight said about $125 or so for a kit.  You will need a receiver as well.  Where are you in NH? E-mail me and let me know, perhaps I can help you.
