Hungary used leather on their AMDs I believe...is that what you saw?????

The Romanian military slings are/were leather. The nylon slings that have been making it in are new (relatively).
The Hungarian leather slings would be a good alternative. I'm sure once the Romanians find out the Americans are crazy enough to give them hard currency for some old ratty leather, they'll send 'em right over.....

My WASR came with the Brown leather sling still in paper wrap with a green thread to keep it tied shut...
But I have to admit, the bayonet that came with it is for a CETME. Any ideas on how to mount it?

I would be in the market for 4or 5 Romanian leather slings, when (if) they become available. Anyone interested in selling one they got with their WASR???

I really like the sling that came with my mak90. It has leather loops on each end you use to attatch to the rifle and it doesnt rattle and make noise like the metal rings do. I dont know if its chinese though.

Probably. The SKS sling attached to the front loop with a leather "tab".

Close, but not quite. The proper tape for AK use is (as seen in Africa & other 3rd world armpits)..........
