Looking into a norinco underfolder. Guy says he bought it new but it has a model number of 1-56s-1. He says he did not convert it. It was imported by sile ny. I was reading some where that those were post ban guns and did not get the folder. If this is true I would need to change parts to make it leagal, if I bought it. Does anyone know how they came origanlly. And no its not a mak, nothings been ground off, looks like a factory underfolder minus the bayo lug.

Some of the Chinese underfolders, and most of the side folders, did not have bayonet lugs.

Sile brought in a bunch of Norinco's and other Chinese rifles that were Norinco's in all but name, like Prochine.

If it's marked 56, it should be legit.

Thanks, I was reading on a guys site off of this board. It was kind of confusing and what he was talking about. I didn't know if they were done like the mak's or if they were just post ban folders. He only showed a pic. of the front trunion and not the whole gun. Thanks Templar

...he might not have, but somebody did. It is worth about $400 IMHO

So the 1 infront of the 56s-1 means post ban. Which means no folder from the factory. So it would need to be 922r compliant?? Even though it isn't stamped Mak-90 correct.

Yes, it would have to be 922r compliant. They didn't ground down the bayo lug for no reason. That gun was probably imported in 90, 91. IMHO still a nice gun I just wouldn't pay over $400......
