I bought a WASR with a fixed wood stock, now what do I have to do to get a Bulgarian Side Folder like this to work on it? Do I have to drill out anything? Weld anything? What would this conversion intail?

Its a major conversion. The pictures will give you an idea.

Would the conversion be hard even though these are available? What makes it such a major conversion? Can it be done?

There is a great deal of cutting required to modify the rear of your fixed stock gun to accept the side folder attachments. The pictures were to let you see the difference. The WASR should have an AKM rear  block and two of the holes will have to be filled (welded shut) to accomodate the 74 style rear trunion.
The rear trunion that you linked to IS inside the rear of the receiver.

And stay away from Florida Gun Works.  Rumor has it that it will be an indefinate waiting period to get anything you order from them.

I don't get who buys from FGW anyway.  Every kit is $100 higher than it should be.

It's not a rumor. It's a fact.
They don't even have a store, a phone, or location.

You mean K-var's listed MSRP of $950 on their sold out Krink kits? When they had them in stock, they sold at way less than MSRP - around $380 to $400.
