Not so much. The M7 Carbine uses the lighter barrel of the AKM and a 90' gas block. There are some rifles like that being issued to the ING.......but the majority are rifles I'm sure the Bulgarians have had in storage for a while...........take a close look at the pictures and you'll see the heavier barrels of the AK-47, the 45" gas block, and the vented gas tube. Basically the Type III milled receiver AK but with synthetic stocks. Here's a pic from earlier in the thread with what would be the military version of the M7 Carbine.

Hmm, I just noticed that the bbl profile on the above pic (mil-spec SA-M7) does look like an AKM, but uses a -47 FSB, seems odd. I have a gas block like mine for sale in the EE, not sure if it will work on your application. What model are you converting? |

Some more images coming at you. The first picture I think comes from Bulwark 04. The next three are interesting, these are older milled ak's(I'm guessing Bulgarian) with the stock removed. The first one is of an Iraqi soldier and the other one is a police officer. I'm guessing that they really wanted a folder, but were stucked with a milled receiver. Well I've got four words for them, "cut that dang tang!"     |
