I just put together a Romy G. And it only goes bang once. The disconector isnt grabbing the hammer when it travels rearward. The disconecter appears to be too far back and too low to catch the hammer when I cycle it manually with the top cover removed. What now? |
| what type of receiver and did you drill the hammer /trigger pin holes ? is the disconnector spring installed ? if you cycle it with your finger off the trigger the disconnector will not catch the hammer, it should catch it when your firing the rifle and you have the trigger pulled back, this is so it wont fire again until you reset the trigger then the trigger catches the hammer. |
not that it matters much, but Is it a G2 trigger group or the original FCG? there should be a small spring under the disconnecter to keep pressure on it and push it "upward" to catch the hammer. without this spring installed, scary things can happen. I speak from experience.![]() ETA the G2 usually doesn't come with the spring. the spring usually comes with the parts kit. Key word is "usually" |

Its a G2, the spring is in there. To put it into perspective If I push the hammer down to the point where the disconector grabs it, and then pull the carrier back w/ bolt in. .....then the bottom of the carrier/bolt dont even touch the disconnector. So its pretty cut and dry simple that the hammer pin is too low in the rec. Right now Im trying to weigh my options. 1. file down the underside of the dissconector hook and the top side of the hammer where the two meet. 2. Trash the whole rec, and start over. GRRRRR....... |

looks like filing the dis. and the hammer are going to be out of the question. I will have to take way too much off. I guess Il give welding up the hole a shot. The only other possible thing I can think of would be to lengthen the disconnector which would involve chopping and adding a splice to it. GRRRRRRRR |
