Is it allright to unfold my AMD65 stock by just pulling it out compared to pushing the screw in to release it?

Will this cause damage to the detent holding it in place>?

I assume you are referring to the slot headed push button on the bottom rear of the reciever. If you don't push this release when folding or unfolding, you will indeed damage the locking device.
