rivet are available from k-var. a complete set is about $20 and they will sell them individually.

if you are just swapping bbls., removing the rivets is not necessary. you need only remove the bbl. cross pin.

to remove the rivets: press out the bbl. retaining cross pin. press out the bbl.. drill the rivets out after center punching and center drilling. carefully use a countersink tool to clean up the rivet edge material that the drill bit won't get.

the rivet setting tool is easy. you can buy them from industrial supply houses or make them by running a ballmill into a piece of half-hard roundstock.

they can then be bashed with a hammer...swearing if you hit your hand with the hammer is optional.

i prefer to rivet with an air hammer. i cut the chisel portion of the tool off, leaving a shank...into which i run a ballbill. no seat...no swearing...just pull the trigger.

backing up the rivet on the other side requires a few chunks of steel sized up to act as bucking tools.
