I just bought an AK and the front side post is moved over to the right and there is a oval shaped block directly underneath that is not flush with the sight post. Does anyone know why?

The sight has been drifted for windage, thats pretty normal.

How far to the right? Does it have any more travel or is it fully drifted?

I don't know. I would say an 1/8" is how far the block below is not flush. It also seems difficult to move side to side. Any suggestions?

I hate the front sight to be drifted too far in either direction. Get an adjustable rear sight. It makes it a lot easier to adjust windage.

no harm. just shoot it. unless its so far over that youre touching the protecting ears of the front sight post.

Not quite but definately off center. So do you tap that block to adjust windage?

That should show you how it all works. Pretty nifty little gadget

Have you shot it yet?  When I got my AK the sight drum was off to the left with the registration marks on the sight post and drum lined up (mine has them, I don't know about others).  Now that it's more or less sighted in, the post is centered (to my eyes) between the ears.

That sight tool is worth it.
