In the process of building a precision rifle in 6.5 CM and trying to decide on one of the two following brakes. The barrel is a 26” stainless M24 contour barrel (0.90” at the muzzle) threaded for 5/8-24. Decided to go with either the APA Gen 3 Little Bastard or the APA Gen 3 Fat Bastard. I presume that the Fat Bastard will be more effective but will it be overkill? Thoughts?

I have a Remington 700P in 300 Win Mag with the APA Little Bastard brake and it more then tames it.
Very pleasant to shoot, even my 16yr old daughter handles in nicely. |

Forgot to say, watch the muzzle blast and warn anyone on either side of you.

I run the fat bastard on my 300rum, it works very very well.... I think either will do it fine for you...

I run the 419 Sidewinder on all my rifles, in the 6.5 creed moor there isnt going to be much difference between the bigger and smaller brakes.

I bought, after much recommendation on here, a Patriot Valley Arms brake for my 308. I went with the Jet 4.
Havent shot the rifle yet, but that's what I bought. |

I put the Gamma V65 on my Tikka and have not noticed any recoil on my shoulder at all in a tee shirt.

I was a member at a range that had a covered firing line.
We finally passed a rule that no muzzle devices under the roof. You had to be on the last 2 lanes left and right that did not have a roof over them. It was a simple corrugated meal roof with open framing underneath. The blast that reflected of the underside was horrible. |
