This morning I loaded up some 75gr Hornady Match, 77gr SMK, and 80gr SMK. This gun shoots 55gr Vmax and 69gr SMK like a laser, but hates anything 75gr. The 77gr loads were sweet as well as the 80gr. As you can see, it did not like the 75’s. I had already shot it with 75’s and Varget, so I tried the 75’s with 4064. Same results. All groups were 5 shots at 100 yards usin a 10mx SWFA S/S.

77gr smk and 23gr of ar comp at 2.26  for me ,second would be 24.5 varget and 80gr elds at 2.430.

What is Hornady 75 gr Match? The BTHP or ELD?

Im shooting 75 gr ELDs from a 26" bolt gun and they are lasers, 77 TMK also. 24.6 Varget @ 2.480 for both with 2900-ish fps with single digit SDs.

You might try switching targets. I like the vertical and horizontal lines for my aiming point. I downloaded this target off the web. As a dyslexic sometimes dots cause my mind to wonder and I wind up aiming at my last bullet hole for some odd reason killing my groups. To my surpprise I haven't found anything My RPR in .223 doesn't really like. Other than below 52gr bullets.

Hmmmm.... mine loves Black Hills 52gr Match. I need to take a box of Prime 55gr Match on my next range trip to see if it does as well. For my local ranges <300y, I don't need the heavier promos and accompanying cost.

Funny mine likes the 52gr ELDM better than the 55gr Vmax. It loved the old 60gr Hornady flat bases with IMR3031. It also liked the 73gr Berger's I decided to shoot up. I decided to save my 52gr bullets for my Savage as it likes them and has a 1-14 twist.

I need to get my RPR out and put some rounds through it.

Yeah you do I put a few rounds through mine last weekend. Now I need it to dry up enough so I can mow my range or I'm gonna have to put my steel on blocks!
