I know, kinda an oxi-moron.
Planning to build a "DMR" type rifle.
I'm limited to 5.56 AR, and a 1-4x optic.
My plan was a match grade 14.5 or 16" barrel, a QD for my YHM.

With duty ammo being 64 gr I'm thinking a 1:8 would be ideal.

I'm looking for the best barrel I can find in the $200.
I looked at Larue, Rainier, and am currently leaning towards a Larue.

I typically buy used off the EE but I'm concerned about the barrel life and how much accuracy is left in it.

Thanks.

I have been pleased with my Nordic barrel. Anything out of Rainier is good in my book as well.

I snagged a 16in larue stealth barrel on the EE here for 200. And there is always one or two floating around!

The Rainier Ultra I run on my 6.5 Creedmoor is outstanding.

Will be going to them for my 6mm ARC barrel without hesitation.

I have had good results with Larue Stealth barrels.

Primary arms has a 16in Triarc barrel that can be had cheaper since they run those 12% off site wide sales. You could also get a ballistic advantage for sub $200

My 12" larue UU is incredibly accurate.  I don't remember where I heard it, but longer barrels don't always make for more accuracy, and historically barrel length is more important for maximizing energy.  I agree and I don't necessarily think your question is oxymoronic at all.

I’m a big fan of Rainier match/Ultramatch barrels. They just seem to perform.

Load confirmation yesterday with two of their 18” barrels. Minus the semi-clean cold bore, things looked in order.
