Torx wrenches or hex head wrenches are the only tools you need.

222 Loctite works fine, never use anything stronger than 242 Loctite.

You need a cantilevered scope base for AR-15's or an extended scope base if you use standard rings. There isn't enough rail space on an AR-15 receiver to get enough eye relief without them.

I use my Wheeler FAT Wrench to make sure all my torque specs are correct.

Most people over-torque their rings and warp or crush the scope.

With a quality scope mount or ring set, there is no need to torque beyond the recommended spec, which is often anywhere from 12-18 inch pounds, depending on how many fasteners there are, what diameter they are, and how long they are.

A level my optics out as well, and on precision rifles, I install scope levels.
