Basic Question

Scope (with zeroed target turrets) is currently sighted in at 600yds.

.308, 165gr, @2600fps

Adjustments are 1 click = .75"

To adjust down to 100 and/or 200yds - how many clicks to get me somewhere on the 24" x 36" target backer?

"Clicks" are typically defined in terms of angular units (like MOA or MILs) not linear units (like inches).  Do you know the angular units for a "click" on the optic in question?  Something like 1 click = 1/4 moa or 0.1 mil are common...

At 600 yards your bullet drops about 119” from the bore, at 100 yards that’s 2.5”

1 Click = .75" at what range?

What is the ballistic coefficient of the bullet you are shooting?

Lots of variables.

Just punching in some numbers, you need to come down 16 MOA.  So if your scope does move in .75" increments at 100 yds, you need to come down 21-22 clicks.

Thanks

BC is .53

IIRC (and that's the problem) 21-25 is about what I needed to get it from 100yds onto the big 600yd backer.

I should've kept more precise notes when I first started shooting out to 600yds and tested multiple weight bullets.

I guess I can always zero the turret and start counting them down at the 100yd line.

Thanks again

Download a simple ballistics calculator like BulletDrop+ onto your phone and plug in your numbers.  As others have said, stop thinking about clicks in inches.

OP, just put your load/weather conditions into a ballistic calculator using a 100 yard zero..than dial down that number of clicks and hit the 100 yard line and fire away..you should be right on the money if your dope is good, and if not it should be on paper and you can make the corrections...Then go back to the 600 and work your dial and correct your dope as needed....

Haven't moved back down to 200/100 yet.  (Having too much fun at 600.)

BUT I've been reloading and shooting different weight bullets and successfully moving point of aim with the Mueller turrets.

Yesterday I shot 165gr GameChangers and this morning shot 150gr MK's.  The adjustments were easy and right on the money.

Info went in my book.

Thanks to all who've offered help.
