I have a savage 10T in .223. It’s a tack driver, has 5R rifling. It’s a blast to shoot. My issue is trying to convert it to use a box mag. Has anyone here accomplished this or can point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

You talking about a detachable bottom metal or DBM that takes AICS mags? Do you want a new stock or something that fits the stock you have?
This is one option but search for Savage DBMs and you can find some others. Just make sure they fit as Savage has some different spacing. Also if you get one the MDT .223 mags work good. Use them in my .223 rifle. https://pacifictoolandgauge.com/savage-bottom-metal/9137-sa-savage-stealth-dbm.html |

Thanks for the info. That's a good price for the bottom metal! Looks like magpul is coming out with .223 AICS pattern mags.

Yeah but the Magpul mags are basically AR mags with AICS plastic. You have a short oal for loading with them. The MDT can take out to about 2.550” which is better if loading 75s or heavier.
