What are some good scopes for the RPR?

These seem interesting:
Vortex Viper HS 6-24x50 ($350),
Riton RT-S MOD 3 GEN2 6-24z50 Riflescope, ($240)
Vortex Crossfire II (in all of it's iterations), ($149-199)
Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6, ($220)
and Nikon Prostaff Rimfire II 4-12X40 ($140).

I typically shoot at 25  and 200 yards with a 10/22, but I'd be curious to try out to 500. Part of me thinks it's ridiculous to put a high power scope on a 22, but another part is curious about the possibilities.

I don't see the practicality of the higher magnification optics for a 22.  I have this Nikon on my 22 rimfire and I am happy with it. I can use it out to about 200 yards effectively. I have never tried anything further, certainly not 500 yards.  I don't think that is a realistic effective range.

Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x40.  Should be able to get one for $180 or so.

The thing to watch out for in a rimfire scope is the minimum focusing distance.  Rimfires tend to be used up close and many scopes, especially higher powered variables, will not focus below about 25 yards.  This is why Leupold has the EFR scopes (extended focusing range).  They focus closer than their other scopes.

I'd go with the Leupold MK5 3-18.

I got one for my cz 455. I am looking real hard at getting the RPR next and will put a MK5 on it as well.

SWFA 10x with the side focus.  I used one to win the first ELR only rimfire match.  It is good glass that tracks well and it actually has enough elevation adjustment to get from 50 yards to 500+ yards with subsonic match ammo.  I would have to spend thousands to get a scope that fits the bill better than that SWFA.

I now have that scope on my Vudoo.

I run the Viper PST Gen 2 5-25 on my CZ 455 and the Kahles k525i on my Vudoo V-22.

I agree that high magnification on a rimfire isn't necessary, but you will make use of it if you have it. Not to mention, when you're trying to shoot groups, it's nice to have high magnification. I still use a Weaver T-36 (36x fixed power) on my 10/22 for casual range benchrest shooting.

Running the Weaver T-36 on my 10/22 as well, at 80 yds it is wonderful for shooting small stuff.

I picked up a nice Leupold, VX-3i 8.5 to 25 x 50 "long range precision" It cranks to 25 power, very nice @ 100 yards.
I like the positive stop when you crank the dope back to the 25 yard sight in setting.
It has a ton of dope as well as the TMR reticle for reaching out.
Has a side focus however will not focus close.  It is nice at range, as in accurate.
It also has a nice throw lever to assist zooming ....$999 local
One thing for sure, this rifle is allot of fun!!!!

I have a nice Remington 541-S Custom Sporter .22lr bolt gun.  With Eley Match ammo it is about 3/4 MOA or better.  It’s worn a period correct Leupold rimfire 2-7x28 for many years.  As a sporter, it has a walnut stock and a slim sporter barrel, but it has a match trigger that can be safely set below one pound and is a “shooter.” While not a “precision rifle” it shoots much like one and better than some.

I wanted to see what more magnification would do to tease out some tighter groups.  I like good glass and buy it.  I have nice Kahles, Leupold VX-6, Zeiss Victory and such on some rifles.  Given the rainbow trajectory of the .22lr, this rifle might not need really good glass for 300 yards and under.  High magnification, long range and fine detail resolution require really good glass, but at .22lr distances maybe not.  I wanted to see.

Vortex Diamondback Tactical scopes seem to be gaining traction for .22lr purposes, but would likely “poop out” at longer distances.  Since they are now widely available in the $350 range or lower and do have a useful MOA EBR 2C tactical “tree” reticle and matching turrets and decent elevation range, I thought I’d give their 6-24x50 a try.  FFP and the thin reticle stadia ought to help.  Side focus parallax adjustment goes down to 10 yards.

It is working out well.  No, it is not a $1000+ scope, nor even an $800 range one.  Not a long range 500-1000 yard scope.  It has some noticeable color fringing aberration under some conditions, but is otherwise free of major vices.  Out to 300 yards, resolution remains good and at 100-200 yards, it is very good.  It tracks well for holdovers and hold offs at these distances (I’ve not pushed it beyond 250 yards so far).  That may be my limit in reading wind right now with .22lr exterior ballistics.  It seems good value.  I see no need for more expensive glass for this application.

Athlon Talos 4x14 44mm sf or Hawke Airmax 3x12 sf compact. Both are very clear with illuminated reticles and very close focus. I have both.
Have a new Volquartsen Fusion that will be in Fri that will get one of those

This. My 455 shoots 5-shots into 1 hole at 40 yards with this scope. I use holdover reticle and hit 3' steel at 100 yds.
