Thx +2 Do you think 1.375 high rings would work with a 50 mm objective? |

My optic will not get in in time for the rifle or ammo. Actually I haven't even decided on an optic. However I do have an Aimpoint Pro and set of MBUS lying around...Could be interesting.
What are you guys looking at as far as optics? I'm leaning heavily towards the Bushnell ERS. |

How can they weigh 10oz *more* than the Gen 1 Razor which was already a tank when something like the Leupold 3-18 MK6 weighs so much less?!?! A 3lb optic is a hard pill for me to swallow. |

It's not that I can't handle it I just don't want it on my rifle. I really wish they could figure out how to drop at least 12oz and then it would be a no brainer to me but on a rifle that I intend to carry alot I just can't see the value of it over the much lighter 4-16 ATACR. |

This is my same reason. I ended up going with a Bushnell ERS. If I want to upgrade in the future, I can always sell it. I don't own a single rifle that hasn't had at least 3 scopes on it before I settled for the perfect fit. |

Probably the best scope you'll find for the money, assuming 21x is enough magnification for you (and if it's not, I'm gonna guess the RPR isn't enough rifle, either). Mount will probably be a LaRue LT-104. I am planning on a .308 build, so not going to be shooting F-class or whatever. I have seen some indication that TTAG is going to review the rifle using that scope, so I guess we'll find out how well it works. |

And even if you can zero at 100, you may be well outside the optical "sweet spot" of the scope until you get out to 500-600 yards. Besides those issues, which are not show stoppers, a 20MOA mount on a 20MOA base is not a huge deal. Heck, ELR platforms like the Desert Tech DTA only list 30 or 40MOA downslope as factory scope mount options... |

| I would of probably stuck with factory 140 on first round. I bet it's what the rifle was tested with. In fact I have some 140 amax sitting on my desk. But I also plan on running some loads with H4350 and Berger Hybrids. Haven't worked them up yet as I need to measure OAL first. My creedmoor comes tomorrow. Those don't look to impressive. |
| I picked up two of the 6.5s from deguns this morning. Hope to see them beginning of next week. I have a vortex PST 6-24 ffp mrad to use. Will my Burris medium height xtreme tac rings work or do I need to go higher? Appreciate any insight, can't wait to bang some steel. |

Do you even OODA loop?

The razor line is better for sure, but only you can decide if it's worth the price jump. |

Take that flash suppressor off and try again. That's a consideration, I've experimented some with FS's on rifles and have NEVER had a noticed accuracy decrease... with both QD FS and brake using a can, I've seen marked improvement in accuracy. I realize there are no absolutes when it comes to whether or not a FS effects accuracy as you will finds folks whose experiences vary... BUT... if the next go does not see improvement, then that will be the next step. Of course if cranking down on a FS I could see it having adverse effects... I slowly crushed the washer down on this install so as to avoid additional stress at the muzzle. Agree on the H4350, I have about 2 1/2 pounds to work with. I'm not all too worried as to whether the rifle will shoot at/under MOA as IMR 4007SSC isn't even made any more... while it seems to work great in my LR-65, I'm not surprised at yesterday's results. |

Won't hurt to back down to 38.0 to 39.0 next time around though... |

For those that have them, how is weight and balance with optic and mag? Is it comparable to a traditional precision bolt rifle or is the center of balance closer to the magwell?
I'm guessing 14-15 lbs loaded and scope, but is it balanced enough for offhand and easy position shooting and carrying for hunting? |

Hornady suggests 41.5gr, which is what I've seen used in 2 Savage 12 LRP's. The load shot fantastic in both rifles. Since you've established that it isn't over pressure based on your earlier tests, you may be able to tighten it up by trying +/- .2grs from the hornady suggested data. It may help, but each rifle is different. Just a suggestion before you give up on the Amax. |
