I hope this is the right place for this.
I'm looking to swap out a barrel on my AAC-SD R700. It's getting pretty long in the tooth and I'd like to send it to a smith who can rebarrel, true the action, and maybe swap the trigger while I'm at it. There's a ton of info on Google, but I always like hearing success stories from others - feel like they hold more merit than a quick search. |

That’s pretty straightforward stuff that any competent Smith can handle. If you don’t get enough recommendations here you might browse Snipershide. Definitely check with a few because time frames are going to vary widely. Even most of the barrel manufacturers are able to do the work.

The trigger is easy, you can do that yourself. Any of the smiths mentioned above can do your barrel and action work.

I had Bartlein barrels do mine, squared the action, the bolt and spun up and chambered a new barrel and installed it..their work was flawless....price/time was fair....

Longrifles inc repaired my bolt handle that broke off the bolt...excellent work.

I forgot about him. If the rest of his work is as nice as the bolt handle he did on my FN then it's good to go. I'd send him a rifle in a heartbeat. |

All the smiths posted are legit but in CO I would call Mile High they are a big AI dealer and have a solid gunsmithing side.

Mile high is a good choice but they charge big $$$.
Check out Crescent customs Tim was the head gun smith at GA years back. I have a rifle that he built and it is amazing and insanely accurate. I just saw you are in CO check out Black canyon customs he is legit your best bet in CO. Franz was the head gunsmith at mile high and now has his own shop. |

.300 Blackout probably has a barrel life close to 6000+ rounds.
