I have a bunch of AR15 lowers that I need to turn in to rifles.

I'd like to build a longish range precision set up. Everything I have now in an AR platform is PSA, Nikon, etc. or similar quality.

Calibers I am invested in on the AR15 platform are 5.56, 6.8SPCII and .300blk

So, What caliber and what brands would you consider. Keep it under $2k, including optic

5.56 is good out to maybe 600 with the right ammo. 6.5 Grendel will take you out further.

To be honest, I've got a PSA free-float nitride upper that shoots IMI 77gr into just under 1 MOA if I do my part. It wears a Primary Arms 4-14x FFP mil/mil, and is the closest thing I have to a precision rifle. For the part of Missouri I live in, I don't need to shoot any further than it can.

Dammit, man! I'm trying to spend money here. There's no room for sensibility like that in this thread!!

My $299 1:7 PSA kit with Nikon P223 will shoot one of my 77gr handloads under 1moa @100. I'm taking it out to 600 in a month. I expect accuracy ( the gun's, not mine. It's always the guns fault) to fall apart at that distance.

However, I know I want to upgrade and it's time to start buying parts

6.5 Grendel is where it's at for a longish range precision rifle. I've taken mine out to 1000 with good success.

What barrel, trigger, optics, etc?

6mm Grendel will outperform the 6.5 by a bit.  But it's a wildcat so its performance comes at a cost.

Comparing the 123gr Scenar to the Berger 105gr VLD, about 60" less drop at 1,000 according to Ballistic AE.

They're sold out at the moment, but not even sure they can export to the US.....I'm sure there are 50bmg uppers manufactured in the US.

They have to be hosted somewhere like imgur.  Then post the link with img tags.

I wish!!

Somebody figures out how that can work on an AR15 lower and I'd write blank checks

You're in luck.  Check out McCutchen Firearms, Safety Harbor, Ferret50, etc.

Then what do you mean?  They're all basically the same thing as the Canadian posted.  They all work on AR15 lowers.

Faxon or BA 6.5 barrel, Aero M4E1 build kit, CMC trigger and A2 stock. You are right at $1k. Spend another $400 on Bushnell Elite 3200 10x. Spend the rest on ammo or rloafing gear. I'm slowly working towards getting set up for the caliber.
