What's your buffer setup on your 6.5?

I found a 308 rifle buffer with three tungsten weights swapped in works well with a Sprinco Red spring.  Helps close the chamber on sticky new BCG's.

JP AR-10 Silent capture spring. I’ll need to look to see if it’s the H2 variant, as I got a great deal in the receiver set w/ SCS. The SCS was basically free.

Initial bcg did well until I started shooting extended strings of fire. It was already tight, and once it became dirty (100% suppressed), it wouldn’t cam over and go into battery. As a result, a few rounds had to be chambered multiple times. I feel pretty confident that those were the “flyers” I experience during load development.

If I have the same issue again, I’ll play around with the buffer. Thanks for the info.

First time out and I'm WAY out of practice... 100yds
5 shot groups (pardon the flyers): Hornady  Match 140g AMAX

Ten shots...

For some reason not getting enough "down" adjustment with the elevation knob so was shooting at the 3.5mil hash mark above center. That didn't add to the consistency and it was 31* that day. Yes, making excuses but none the less, the rifle shows some real promise. I'm very happy. Once I got the gas block adjusted it ran like a dream with the Hornady.

This is my Odin Works 16" ultralite on a Bear Creak upper, BCG, and handguard.

I shot this today, 9 shots.  Used factory ELDs 123 at 100yds, sighting in for deer season.  The two shots are me, just not a steady shooter, just the rifle/guard across a block of wood and me holding it.

We have been pretty pleased with our LM8 MWS ( 13.5", 16" and 20" barrels )

Pretty solid MOA shooter even with the chrome lined barrels, not even the Match barrels.

With the 20" barrel one of the best single 5 shot groups I have shot with a semi:

Suppressed at 100 meters, Lapua 167gr factory Scenar ammo:

Another suppressed group at 100 meters, same Lapua ammo, suppressor removed between every shot:

Still waiting to get over to the 2-300yd range, as I experienced some heavy handed technically difficulties.... I broke the OEM barrel nut while truing the receiver face and gluing in the barrel...  I was doing this for the next phase of testing.... I will get back to the 100yd range and see if it shoots less fliers now that it is trued n' glued with all of the tested ammo's.

Well, figured I'd share this:  screenshots of three strings of 2 sighters + 20 record shots fired in a match last weekend.  FYI, the grid squares are 1 moa (~6").

String 1:  Just getting started for the morning, little bit chilly (might have just broken 40F)

String 2:  Not much warmer, but the sun came out a little, so I could see the mirage a little.  Doing a little better at playing the wind with those coarse 0.1 mil clicks.  Trigger finger was cold and accidentally pulled right thru the ~4.75lb NM trigger.  Guess which shot *that* was

String 3:  Things started to warm up a little (finally), which meant the wind started getting squirrelly.  Yes, we have wind flags on this range.  No, they aren't in ideal locations and no, they don't always tell the truth - until *after* the fact

Gun is a home-built upper; Aero M4 upper & bolt, WOA 20" SR barrel w/ A2 flash hider, Seekins adj. gas block, MWI fore-end tube, Sav MSR15 lower w/ Geiselle NM trigger, Magpul UBR stock, with a LRA bipod and Redman 'tactical pillow' rear bag.

Load was S77TMK seated to mag length over 23.2gn IMR8208XBR in a Hornady case with CCI BR4 primers (an old lot that I only had one box of, so I'd never used them in any of my 'serious' F-class guns.  Not sure if it was my finger, or the primers, but the vertical sure improved when things warmed up a tad!

Like a lot of us, most of my rifles will outshoot me.

Once in a while I get lucky.

Great shooting. Are you using a 4.5x scope or running irons?

Here's my old school DPMS in 6.5 Creedmoor that I bought in 2012.  It has somewhere around 1700-1800 rounds on the odometer, mostly my reloads.  This is an older picture when it wore a Vortex scope and before I modified the gas system from rifle length to extended length.  It now wears a NF ATACR 5-25 SFP in NF rings directly attached to the upper.

Here's the target I used when working up loads for the Hornady 140 grain HPBT using H414.  H414 doesn't give the highest velocities, but because it's a ball powder it meters well, and I meter all my reloads.  I settled on the 39.6 grain load.  For a metered load, I'm happy with the accuracy I get.
