Anybody have issues feeding a large frame AR (AR-10) with Hornady factory 147 gr ELD Match and p-mags?

They seem to be too long for a p-mag and did not feed well for me.

I'm trying to answer your question but your Avatar makes me sad

Try some Larue Mags, should have enough length.  What's the COAL on the 147s?

Sorry.  Used to be a Mattis fan.  Used to.  Guess I'll have to change it...

Just measured 10 rds.  They varied from 2.815" to 2.817".   My Hornady reloading manual lists the max COAL as 2.825".  Same manual lists .308 Win max COAL as 2.810".

Thinking about trying Lancer L7 mags.  Thoughts?

I had feeding issues in my Gibbz/JP 6.5 CR gas gun.  JP machines some small feed ramps into my upper and I also discovered that My rifle did not like  140 and 147 gr bullets .now using 130 gr Berger’s and 123 Scenars loaded to 2.80 and getting excellent feeding from Pnags abs ASC metal mags.  I also have lancers abs they are still giving me issues.  I’m gonna buy some more ASC or invest in some Larue’s

I use Lancers for 6.5C, Pmags for 308, and LT mags for 260.

Haven't had any issues with Hornady 147s in the lancers.

Thanks all.

Will pick up a couple Lancers.  Not looking to spend $70-$80 apiece on Larue mags.

LT mags are about $1700 a piece, but buy 2 and you get a free rifle.

I have the ten round version of this mag.  It works flawlessly in my DPMS 6.5 Creedmoor.  Also, it has a butt welded seam in the rear of the mag, so it offers more cartridge OAL than the factory DPMS mags that have overlapping spot-welded tabs in the front.

It doesn't hurt that these mags are only $20 apiece.

Same here. My PMags feed 140 and 147 ELD-M with no issue.
