[Last Edit: ARvsAK]
I have a Ruger precision rimfire and a cantilever mount that I had laying around. Scope I’m using is Athlon gen 2 Argos 6-24x. The rifle has a 30moa scope rail built in. Now does it matter how far on the rail I mount the scope? Should it be more forward towards the tip or back towards the stock? Or does it matter?

Based on the picture if I have the mount further back there will be a bigger slant downwards towards the barrel and opposite if it’s further up on the rail

I think that mount is more geared towards an LPVO or red dot, not a longer tube scope.  I'd go with conventional rings for this application.

Assume your positions. Move the eye relief to fit.

The rail incline would only affect height over bore a smidge, which is mainly a concern if using lower rings and a large objective lens.
