I haven't reloaded in over 20 years. However, I have recently acquired a new rifle (Mossberg MVP LP Thunder Ranch in 5.56 NATO). It has a 20-inch barrel with a 1/7 twist. I plan on using heavy bullets; 68gr+ in it. I need a recommendation for powder. When I previously loaded .223, I used W748 exclusively, as I was reloading for my Colt A2. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Varget, IMR8028XBR, CFE223 will all work.

With loading supplies in tight supply I would grab whatever you can. Also you can go to Hodgdon’s reloading page and look at the powders they show for whatever bullet weights you have.
