Drilled and tap a FSB with what I thought was a 8-32 tap......nope, actually it was a 8-40 tap.

Can not seem to find 8-40 set screws anywhere.

Any help on finding 1/8" to 3/16" would be huge.

At this point I would even consider slotted set screw (flathead screwdriver) versus the hex head (Allen wrench).

I'd try chasing the threads with a 8-32 tap, or go up to a 10-32.

Yeah, I found those but they are a bit short.  The flats on the barrel are a somewhat deep and FSB rather thick.

Thought about going 10-32 but I am worried about taking away too much material from the under side of the FSB.  It's not your typical A2 FSB.  Maybe do the 8-32 or even 8-36 first?
