I built a 22 ARC after mulling all of this over.

I shoot PRS, and have shot every 6mm and 6.5 under the sun.  I wanted a dedicated gun for thermal, it had to be fairly light, easy to maneuver around, capable of killing everything from Coyotes to Wolves. and fit in an an AR small.  I don'twant to lug around my 6.5C gasser large, nor to a want a long barreled bolt gun. The 6 ARC seems to run out of gas with short barrels, and I don't have faith in hardly any 6mm bullets with a high BC to expand or deform at the lower 6 ARC velocities that come with the shorter barrel I required.

I mulled all of this over and built a 16" 22 ARC gas gun with.  With a Scythe can, the gun is a very manageable length and quiet.  It send the 62 grain Hornady ELD-VT at 3150 fps with CFE223 which is plenty for coyotes, wolves, cats, etc. out to 5-600 yards.  With the Spikes Arca rail, the thing turned out exactly as I had hoped.

ETA:  Many people, including myself, have had accuracy issues witht he factory loaded 62gr ELD-VT.  It's a very long bullet for the weight.  I'm pretty sure it's just an 88 ELDM without lead in the nose.  I seated them much farther out than factory when I handloaded, and got much more satisfactory results.  As I had assumed, being a high BC Secant (or maybe hybrid) ogive, it is particular about jump distance.
A real 1 MOA All Day shooter.

I started out with the 6 ARC and have had great success killing hogs, coyote, and deer. I have not hand loaded for it yet as I bought a bunch of factory ammo right off the bat.

I then got the 22 ARC as I thought it was a neat little cartridge. I've got it zeroed now on my rifle (Thermal scope) but have yet to actually kill something with it as I've just been too damn busy to get out. I did plan of getting out tonight as the weather is nice right now.

I'm usually critical of Ballistic Advantage's barrels chambered in .223/5.56 but the two ARC barrels I have meet their MOA guarantee and that's all I need for my shooting and hunting needs. They are fairly inexpensive depending on where you get them. If it shoots like crap, just return it and try again.
