Here are my results and conclusion regarding the 64gr Winchester Power Points simply for knowledge purposes
1st 1- 0.596" 2- 3.256" 3- 2.116" 4- 2.666" 5- 1.686" Avg= 2.074" MOA= 4.128 2nd 1- 2.196" 2- 2.506" 3- 2.356" 4- 1.796" 5- 2.446" Avg= 2.26" MOA= 4.517 ETA: 3rd 1- 1.746" 2- 1.966" 3- 2.436" 4- 2.406" 5- 2.116" Avg= 2.1328" MOA= 4.2656 4th 1- 2.766" 2- 1.606" 3- 1.606" 4- 2.096" 5- 2.626" Avg= 2.14" MOA= 4.28 Overall avg= 2.1495" MOA Avg= 4.299 Conclusions: Out of my PSA 20" A4 64Ggr Winchester Power Point is merely a workable hunting ammo good out to only about 100-150 yards. At 50 yards it only averages 2.1495" with an average MOA of 4.299 When shooting out of an Spike's 16" midlength in 1:7 topped with an Aimpoint M3 dialed down to lowest visible brightness it actually shot worse with an avg of 2.5" at 50 yards and an MOA of 5... I will get some FGMM and see what these can do

First up we have an 20" SPR parts build with a Nikon P223 shooting 65gr SGK reloads from a bipod sitting behind a bench:
Results: 1.49/1.03/1.17/1.73/2.48 Average raw measurement of 1.58-.224=1.356 average or 1.295 MOA. A couple of bad shots, especially on that last group. I suck. 
Maybe I'll do better with the 6.8 using a sandbag: Rifle 6.8 SPR build with 16" ARP barrel/bolt and a Redfield Revolution scope. Shooting SSA 110 Gr Nosler factory ammo. Shot from the bench with the forearm resting on a bag. 
Yeah I forgot to put the calipers in for the pic... But no one lies about numbers like this: 1.513/1.73/3.429/2.027/2.655=2.2708 Raw average or 1.9 MOA. At this point, it's time to stop measuring. Not the worst day of shooting, but certainly not the best. Range pic 
Side note: cheap glass, and poorly lit indoor ranges don't make it any easier. |

Precision Bolt gun, Magnified Optic div. 100yds CIB,Winchester M70 Heavy Varmint, HS Precision stock, PTG Stealth bottom metal, Vortex Razor HD 5-20X50. 178 gr. Hdy Amax, 44.6 grs. RE-15, FC Brass Group measurments: .850, .760, .590, 1.115, .690= 4.005= .801 MOA Avg. Group 4 is the direct result of losing focus, due to your dog trying to sit on you while in the prone position. Note to self, don't take the dog next time. |

I tried today. I am not very happy with my results, and have a couple of ideas to improve. BTW do you all shoot in one string? My rifle heated up pretty good by the last group. (the middle is the last group) The "range"

I try to shoot it within 10 minutes, as my range does ~10 minute rotations of shooting, then going cold to swap targets or whatever you'd like to do down range.
With that said, if I'm going slower, I'll sometimes shoot ~ 15-20 in the 10 minutes and then the last 1-2 groups in the next iteration. When I shoot it all in one 10 minute iteration, that calculates into 24 seconds per shot. However that doesn't factor in taking my position when the range goes hot or my magazine change when using 20 rounds in an AR. When I shoot the 25 rounds in a bolt rifle, I go slow and it takes multiple iterations. |

I fire a 5 round grp. walk down to the 100yd. check the grp. walk back fire another 5. Your barrel will still get pretty hot though. Shouldn't matter with a decent barrel.
I wouldn't beat myself up too much with those groups, you might go back and try it again another day, and do better, have a bit more concentration, etc. ETA: I might play around with the seating depth on those, your seating @ 2.800 which is typically mag length, I'd try seating a bit longer, and see what it does. I had to go with different bottom metal, and AI mags to be able to seat long enough, and still get them in a mag, though I'm running the 178gr. AMAX. |

Took mama out to shoot the challenge today with the "spr". This is mama lefty weaver's entry for fun she isn't a member here and just reads along with me a good portion of the time while I'm on here. Reading all of the excuses of members that will not take the challenge motivated her to do it. You all know the ones...oh I've got better things to do with 25 rounds of ammo...my time is to valuable to waste doing something like this...etc.
These were the only 25 rounds fired through this rifle this day so it includes cold clean bore. I had just cleaned it the night before including a thorough copper removal process. Target was actually shot with the right side of the page in this picture as the top. I had her dry fire 3 times before the first shot. 
Her score was 0.788" without the moa correction. I've also posted video of her banging steel at 660 yards with this rifle. |
