If you have been around RimfireCentral back in 2010 you might have seen this game before. I think it's pretty fun and you can print targets from your PC for mere pennies.

First a few rules...

1. Targets will be shot at either 25, 50, or 100 yards.
2. One shot at each of the 25 tacks above the sighters. Sighters can be shot at multiple times.
3. 20 "tacks" driven makes the "tack" drivers club with each additional tack receiving a star up to 25.
4. Inner circle must be broken with the bullet. Smudge mark inside circle will count or use of a scoring gauge.
5. Once you reached 25 you will have a 5 star "tack" driver and are finished with that build.
6. Any ammo,rest, and scope.
7. Must post picture of target, gun, and ammo to be added.
8. You may use a USBR scoring gauge, smudge marks inside will also count. Last resort stick a round in the hole
and use it like a USBR gauge.
9. No machine rests or return to battery rests

The 100 yard game is a little different. Same rules as above apply except there are 20 1" tacks on the target. 15 tacks driven makes the 100 yard "tack" driver club. For every tack over 15 you will be awarded a star up to 20. You will then have a five star tack driver and done with that build. When you make the 100 yard club you have the "long drive" title til the next person steps up.

Hit 1 of the smiley crossbone faces (allowed 2 shots at each face) and touch a eye or the mouth and you have a
SMACK YOU IN THE FACE LONG TACK DRIVER
Make the 25 yrd club, 1 or both of the 50 yrd clubs, and the 100 yrd club and you have a
PRO TACK DRIVER

Couple of things before you print.

1 Make sure to click on actual size in adobe which sets print scale at 100%. This is located right below the create pdf tab in between the - and + sign. Click on the down arrow beside the percentage value.

2 After you go to print target in adobe and your printer page comes up make sure that page scaling is set to none and it is showing the document and paper size to be the same or 1/1 where the preview is shown.

3 If you printed the target correctly the "Tacks" should be .375" for 25 yrd tack, .5" for 50 yrd tack, and 1" 100 yrd tack outside diameter.

This is not a match or competition so post targets that are good , bad, and even the ugly.

If you want to kick it up a notch, shoot the 25 yard target at 50 yards or the 50 at 100yards. If your rifle is a laser with the Hubble Telescope mounted on it try the 25 yard target at 100 yards.

I think that's everything, good luck and most importantly have fun everyone!

Thanks for playing OP.

I see that today we now have a dedicated forum for .22lr. Any chance of using your super Mod powers and moving this thread down there?

Ok, I printed the targets and went to the range today.

I sucked But I had fun and plan to get out and try it again soon. I know that I can do better than that.

My only defense is that I have not shot much in the last year due to a fubared back.

The last time I shot my CZ was in January and the last time I shot either of my center fire rifles was just over a year ago.

I shot the 50 yard first and then the 100 yard.

I had to move to another location on the range to shoot the 25 yard.

Rifle, range and ammo

This rifle seems to prefer HV ammo for some reason.

50 yard target

100 yard target This was particularly bad. I was having trouble seeing the bullet holes and had to go down at one point to figure out where I got out of sequence. Oh, and I forgot to shoot the smiley cross bone targets.

Two of the circles have small dots in the centers. I knew that I had gotten out of sequence at some point and marked those so I would know which to shoot.

25 yard target. A lot of these were very close and I used a magnifying glass to look close. If there was smudge inside the circle, I counted it. I numbered them and will take a close up of any that are disputed.

Having fun is whole idea.

I plan on hitting the range this weekend. We shall see who sucks worse. I bring up the rear better than anybody I know.

I doubt any of you all have anything to worry about.  You haven't seen my results yet.

I need to get stuff out of storage, find a shooting spot, and get working.

Went to the range this a.m. After getting the scope dialed in I managed to upgrade my performance from pure suckage to OK.

So far Old_Painless has set the bar. I still have a couple boxes of good ammo left so I can try to improve.

I have a new savage FV-SR and an assortment of .22 match/target ammo to try out.  Maybe once I get it broken in, more myself than the rifle, I will give this a try.

I'm in the same bucket...  I saved the above target PDFs for my HD, so I can print them out and try this when I get my rifle dialed in...

I downloaded the rules and the targets.  Thanksgiving is the earliest I will get to shoot but it isn't that far off.

Wouldn't it be helpful to understand the conditions under which a target was fired, especially the wind conditions, especially for the 100 yard targets?  The results are what they are and doping the wind is part of the game but one man's 15/20 could be a lot more impressive than another's, if it was fired in twitchy 15 mph winds.

By the way, are wind flags allowed?  If so, how many?

Well, I will post my results. I used another target to get dialed in so I counted the bottom row as targets. Some of these are very close. I used a 22lr round to see if it broke the line. For all those complaining about the weather, 37 degrees with a 5-10 North wind and spitting rain. Federal bulk pack sucks for precision work. You can hear the difference in velocity between some of the shots. </a>" />

And for the record, this is a fuck ton of fun! Took me and my brother almost 30 minutes each to complete the target.

Ok, this is way tougher than I thought it would be. Whomever came up with this is a sadist. LOL! Tended to blow the 5th shot on each line on the first attempt. Did better on the second.

The rifle/ammo I used was more than capable, but I was fighting the trigger a bit and parallax since my scope only went down to 30yds for that adjustment. When I got on a roll I was shooting with both eyes open in order to keep the crosshairs sharp. Excuses, excuses. This was the most fun I've had shooting in quite some time. If I can find some more Wolf Match I'll give it another go.  I'm on a mission now. Much respect for anyone that can do this, you've got to have your act together to keep those hits going for a full 25 shots.

Shot the 25 yard target today, wind made it iffy on trying any farther.

Rifle is an older 10/22 that I just redid for a long range trainer. Ammo was Federal auto-match bulk pack. Rifle was shot off a bipod with a rear bag.

I went to the 25 yard range today and took my CZ precision trainer.

I did about the same as last time at that range.

Several that were oh so close but not quite there.
