OK so the flexible LED light strip on the front of our camper, imagine a strip of led's with a clear silicone like substance over the leds..... melted, just the clear part melted.

The stip looked like this



the clear part melted and ran down the from cap of the trailer and hardened up.  

A replacement strip was easy to find and cheap, $9.00  

But getting the melted crap was a beast to get off of the camper...... I tried Goo Be Gone, mineral spirits, alcohol, even diesel.  The wife suggested Goof Off that had acetone.  

I tested the paint in an out of sight spot and the paint held up.  That was the only thing that would take it off.  

Now it looks like this..  



Anyone else have these lights melt?

Not yet and I use that stuff everywhere.

My fear is when my truck goes into regen (diesel), either the fumes or excess fuel dissolved it

I'm not speaking from experience, but maybe put something over it when you're pulling it with your diesel truck to prevent that. Something as simple as a piece of duct tape could do the trick.
