As long as I've been on this page , I never realized there was a "Homestead " section .... lol..Im pretty stoked ... What states are you guys in? Husband , I and 2 children are in NC.... near wilmington.. Have a small 10 acre plot that we started working from scratch maybe 2 and half years ago. We call it "Out of square homestead " Because everything we.ve built has been slightly out if square, haha. Currently have about 40 layers , rotate on average 20 meat birds, as well as meat quails, couple of pig a year , milking goats and greenhouse with about half acre garden....Just hosted our first homestead conference this past April to network local homesteads and offer free classes to the public, and was a huge success.

Home with good neighbors, 10 acres, land about an hour away, about 370 acres with a stocked river and no neighbors.

Up north by the Canadian border, on 144 acres. Don't own it yet, but pay the expenses and have exclusive use. My hope is to move there at some point, though getting it livable year 'round will be an expensive challenge. Need a big solar array, hook up indoor plumbing (the Missus isn't mobile enough to use the outhouse), put up an outbuilding for the needs to-be-purchased tractor, etc., etc., etc.

We live in west central Ohio on 12.5 acres. Just myself, wife, and three dogs. It's our little slice of heaven.

Minnesota. We are moving in the next 6-12 months to another location in Minnesota
 . I'm not settling for less than 40 acres when we move. Prefer closer to 100, with surrounding land I may be able to buy later. We did quite a bit on the 4 acres we are on now though. |

Glad you found it. It is arguably my favorite sub.
Cattle ranchers in Central Florida, but working on a little permaculture farm on 10 acres. Its taking forever to get things going. |
