Do you leave the snickers bars in the wrapper, or remove it?  Afterwards do you freeze the candy or leave at room temperature.

Thanks

Organization time! Printed this to see how it goes. 18 AA and auto rotates. Going to make a few more and then do AAA. We go through a lot but this helps FIFO. Attachment Attached File

While we are on 3d printing, made this over the last few days. Holding 12 pounds of armor, makes it easy to grab, and frees up a whole tool drawer in my gun room.

yeah happy to! I learned a lot from this forum and one of the main reasons I got into it was the idea of making things that are handy, useful, and help with prepping. I'm learning how to do stuff right now from plans, with the idea of eventually getting into DIY drafting. That lets you make spare parts for things that break cheaper and faster than ordering it.

which software are you using if you don't mind me asking? I've got an ender 3 but grew up using 3dsmax and fusion 360 is no where near as intuitive. I'm guessing its important to stop whining and just watch more how to on youtube.

my dumbass is downloading the files from Thingiverse. then running it through this free/easy slicer program that's web based: https://grid.space/kiri/

from there I edit what I feel I need to and go from there. I'm going to to get my own real stuff but for now this is fine. I am using an Ender 5 that I got on amazon. I sent it in a PM but so far I've done 3 battery holders, the light holder, a half dozen kids toys, that armor hook, 4 AR 3 mag holders, and some kids toys for $14 worth of filament. I will be printing some guns once I get dialed in, but I'm trying to learn the ropes. If anyone has questions feel free to post or PM, I've learned a lot from here and have some resources to share.

seems like a good way to make parts for appliances and random things that break. I I made a Molle panel but don't love it. I'm dumb but learning

Broke out my wheat grinder and working on a big loaf of whole wheat bread. Figure I'd better develop a good recipe with all the hard wheat I bought lol.

Current Recipe:
3 cups white wheat berries (5 cups ground?)
1 cup bread flour (to aid in dough hook stickiness)
4 tsp salt
1 tbs yeast
2 tbs honey
1.5 cup water? I added too much, hence the bread flour

Might make two loafs. We'll see how the proofing goes

You mean a 20# tank?!

I see those for between $10-20 empty on FB or craigslist all the time.  Plus another $20 for a fill and you are still ahead.

yeah . the last one I got like that was internally rotten and ended up being a waste. I figured it would be easier just to get a brand new one.

we don't use propane except for our turkey fryer and pot still. grill is pellet, camp stove runs on 1 pounders. figured this would be good back up and last for about ever should we need it.

Oof. Yeah it sucks you got burned.

Local store has canned green beans and corn 3 for $1 but a limit of 6.

Picked up 6 on my way home from work and will continue to try and make some extra trips this week to stock up.

I’m not a hunter. I’d like to be, but I haven’t put enough effort into it.

So, yesterday I went to a buddy’s place to see how to skin and quarter a deer. I brought a couple kids with me too. The boy was delighted. The girl wasn’t bothered by it, just more interested in the cat.

It’s a small thing for most on here, but a big thing for us.

There are adapter hoses to run the equipment designed to run on the 1lb bottles that allow the same equipment to run off of the refillable 20 lb tanks.

a one lb bottle will currently run you $ 5.00 or so for about 91,500 btu's of energy = 18,300 Btu per dollar

A refill on a 20 lb tank will run you $ 15-20.  Using the higher number $ 20 will buy you 1,830,000 btu's of energy = 91,500 Btu per dollar.

Tanks I reject from filling usually have excessive rust, severe physical damage, or I will find the seals leak as I start filling them.  I have never been able to tell if one was internally rotten.  How did you determine that?

It had a little surface rust that had been painted over so I didn't see it right away. I scraped some of that off and the rust was worse than anticipated. I wasn't too mad, it came free with a trailer I had purchased and made money flipping, and I traded that one in at a place that did an exchange.

I do have the adapter hose you mention. we use the 1 pounders for travel and the 20s for back up. 40 pounds (and another 10 in 1 pounders) should last a while making eggs and small meals if SHTF for real and we lose gas, too.

I'm also trying to get a Little Buddy heater for christmas. Figured if we get a "Texas" storm here in GA that would be helpful.

So take the tank to a exchange place and pick up a newer tank that's full for what $20 ish. Most hardware stores, some grocery and gas stations do exchanges. It's what most of us do when we end up with a tank over 12 years old that can't be refilled until it's inspected.

Bought 2 of the Mr. Buddy heaters back in early October. $77 online from Walmart (I know). Saw them in store 3 days ago.. up to $87 a piece now. If you going to get them get rum now. Not sure if $10 increase due to bidenflation or just because winter is coming.

It was on sale ($900) but $100 off usual and free delivery. I was mistaken, it’s 20.0 cu feet. More than upright freezers have been in the past but I guess this is our new normal.
