Just picked up a mint Fenwick baitcasting rod from 66-67. What was a good reel at the time? I know it's going to suck compared to newer stuff.
Or should I get newer? |

I'm cleaning house this week on ARF.
I have an Abu-Garcia Ambassadeur 6000 baitcasting reel from the '70's. used it a couple of times I think. It's bright red, single black handle, in the original case with paperwork and accessories. No rust or wear areas. It's a beautiful paperweight, but if someone will get some use out of it, I need to move on. EBay is all over the map on them price wise but who cares. Send me an address and it's yours. |

Take the offer on the Ambassador reel above. I wore out several 5000s in that time period. They are great reels.

Zebco 101 or 202. I had both. I caught a lot of fish with these reels.

They seem to go for quite a bit of $. Any comparable or small Abu reels you would recommend? |

Found a Penn 109 at an antique shop. Oiled it up a bit and it casts well. May have to go try this out.
