One of the things I do is buy bulk chicken and repackage it for retail sale. If you are noticing fresh poultry prices increase in the store, this may answer why. Our costs for poultry are increasing, as well as our costs for packaging supplies.

We are accustomed to seeing prices trending up and down, due to demand, supply, time of the year, etc... Inflation may not be the only reason for the price increases, but it is unrealistic to say it has nothing to do with it.
Other food prices are following, however most of them not at this speed. Food is still inexpensive in comparison to historical costs as a percentage of income, now may well be better than later to fill the pantry.
