Both of these work great for me.  If I'm not careful and load too much ice I find myself with only ice but no water even after hours in the sun at the beach.

I second the yeti . Keeps ice 48 hrs easy . I use mine 24/7.

Do not get dark colors. This will shorten the ice significantly.  White or SS is the best.

I have a half gallon RTIC water jug that rides on the asphalt paver with me.  I usually end up with just ice by afternoon.

Insulated Water Bottle Test   from Project Farm

Another Water Bottle Test  from BottlePro

Silicone ice cube trays for water bottles HERE

Do shop around.  The lids are surprisingly nice for keeping the cubes clean.

Pre-chill or pre-warm insulated bottles prior to filling.  Insulated caps (sometimes an option) can be useful.  Lots of water filters/purifiers have threads for common water bottles on their outflow, most seem to be Nalgene wide-mouth bottle threads.  Such Nalgene threads are common amongst some brands of water bottles.  Other/different threads may be interchangeable amongst other/different brands of water bottles.

Humangear capCap converts some wide mouth bottles into a smaller cap version which is less prone to face-splashing when on the move.

The room temp water is going to be an issue for any of them if you don’t load it completely full of ice first.

If RTIC has a comparable option I'd go with that just based on cost alone.  I've got both RTIC and YETI stuff, they work the same in my experience.  just got to find the size and shape/lid that fits your needs.

YETI does make a gallon jug since OP specifically mentioned that size. It's $130 though.  https://www.yeti.com/drinkware/jugs/21070140009.html

I'm baffled by all the Yeti responses. They are anti-2A, their products are mediocre, and their after-sales support sucks.

I bought a nice Yeti and it wouldn't hold ice more than 24 hrs. I was lucky to get a workday (10 hrs) out of it. They said that was within range and they couldn't do anything.

I now have a "Werewolf" brand from Amazon. Starting 100% full of ice then topped off with cold water, it will hold ice for 48 hrs plus, even in hot sun.

This Stanley is what I use when trail riding. I know this one is only 30oz, but it's the biggest one that'll fit in a cup holder, if that's important. They do have bigger sizes.

Keeps my water cold all day.

Just spent 2 weeks in Europe with a  40 oz. RTIC as my water bottle.  The ice lasted up to 3 days.  Can't recommend enough.

I bought the ChinaMart 64oz. Ozark Trails jug some years back and it’s very good.

I think I paid under $20 for it.

My formative years were spent in Europe so "ice" in a drink is verbolten, but I did experiment yesterday.

I have one of those free promotional Grizzly brand insulated coffee tumblers that keeps my coffee hot (warm actually) for most of the day.  I put cold tap water and ice in it yesterday morning.  This morning the ice was approximately 50% present. I left the lid off the tumbler for the experiment.  It is shown with the lid installed because it has coffee in it today.  I left it in my kitchen for 24 hours with a ambient room temp of approximately 68F.

Real operators may know you're a poser for having a Tier 3 tumbler instead of an operator's T1 Yeti for your Watermelon Kool-Aid, but it werkz brah.

For the price point I always went with the Stanleys. They were fairly well insulated and one came up missing I wouldn't cry over the replacement costs

@D6T

$30, 1 gallon, and Walmart has a 90 return policy. Save the receipt in case you don't like it.

Ozark Trails goodness.
