I'm new to AR15.com but have been watching for some time. Am also a radio op with HF pack experience and low power rigs. I'm in Idaho. Anyone out this way. Currently own an SGC-2020, KX1, and an FT-857D. Antennas, G5RV at 60 feet, mobile antennas HI-Q 3.5 through 29Mhz. Also have an older Bandhopper manual tune on the jeep. Also, an Armalite M-15, reconfigured to an entry type with G2 light, and Green light laser, 16 inch barrel. Have another, DPMS lower, full length buffer tube and 11.5" upper. |

welcome crash50. SE MN here. old kenwood 520 on a bunch of dipoles, I seem to get the NW pretty good most times on 20 have to arrange something. EDIT ::: I realy got to quit my job so i can spend more time on the radio sucks having to work 2ed shift.. |
Welcome! I'm down along the Wasatch range in Utah, so I'm sure we could easily hit each other. I'm running an 857 with a g5rv (at only 30 feet), but it's oriented for N/S propagation. The next two weeks are a little sketchy for me to get up on the air, but we'll have to try soon after the end of this month. |
Hope I didn't miss much before I got it recording again.
Technically it stopped me from recording. I was already in bed.  It did inspire me to put a UPS on the DVR though. It went out and came right back, but it was long enough for the recording to be interrupted and the rcvr had to reaquire the sat signal again. I've learned my lesson.
