6.8 lbs
22.4" Barrel Length
Enhanced Recoil Pad
Oversized Bolt Handle
Metallic Bolt Shroud
Fluted Bolt
Steel Recoil Lug
Cerakoted, Fluted, 5/8x24 Threaded Barrel
Cerakoted Muzzle Brake

Took my LGS about 3 weeks to get this in once I ordered it.  I initially handled/fondled this rifle in 300 win, loved the weight, balance, and camo.  I've used the same damn hunting rifle for 30 years! It was a nice hunting rifle, but just doesn't compare to this. Currently, the Leupold scope, base, rings, flip ups are being cerecoated to match the barrel. (Leupold  2-10x42 firedot), Aluma flips. CDS dial submitted to leupold to match my rounds.

Hopefully this shoots as good as it looks.

This camo is from the SITKA whitetail line

That's a very good looking rifle!  Can't wait to see it put together.

Did you end up getting it in 300 Win Mag?

No, I decided on 7mm Rem Mag.

Cheers to 7 mm Rem mag - looks like a well built rifle. I had a T3X in 7 mm-08 that was outstanding, I think you will be pleased with it. Let us know how it shoots.

I like the camo.  Looks a lot like the ATACS pattern.

I have a Tikka T3 in 7RM and am indifferent about it.  I love how it balances, it's light weight, and butter smooth action but mine is very fickle when it comes to what it will shoot.  It hates the Hornady Precision Hunter ammo but will shoot the 165gr Sierra Game Changer or the 165gr Nosler Ballistic tip under an inch. It shoots the cheap Sellior & Belliot 140gr round nose with three rounds almost going through the same hole.  I've never had a rifle cause me so many headaches with load development.

Thanks for the feedback.  I'm waiting on my scope to finish cerakote this week and hopefully get to the range in a week or so.

Really interested in a range review update if you get a chance. I love what Tikka has done with 2020 line of rifles.

The Leupold VX-5HD 2-10 x 42mm just wrapped up getting cerakoted and delivered yesterday(2 weeks behind MY schedule, but oh well).  The hope is to get it mounted, quick bore sight and hit the range next Saturday morning.  I bought several boxes of the Barnes VOR-TX, 7mm Remington Magnum, TTSX-BT, 150 Grain which I heard the Tikka likes.  I also had leupold create an additional CDS (free from Leupold) engraved with those ballistics.  The CDS gets sent back for Cerekote Monday (part of the package I bought), but I won'ty use it this year unless I can hit the range prior to my trip.

I'll post results next Saturday.

Scope is back from getting cerakoted "Desert Verde" - Thought I would post a few pics of the scope with the rifle.

I couldn't be happier.  Wasn't 100% sure what to expect, but man this paint job is perfect.  Even the mounts screws are painted. Note: My pictures do not do this justice and some appear that the job is shotty.  However, this was top notch.

Just dry fitting - I want a buddy (gun smith) to do the final mounting.

Little ammo Porn as well

5.56 on the left with the 7mm rem mag on the right

Awesome looking rifle!  I just got a Sako 85 Grey Wolf in 7mm Rem Mag for a solid price and am waiting on it to come in.  Honestly if I had noticed that Tikka earlier I may have gotten that instead.  Looking at it now, it looks like an awesome package.

Thanks.... We'll see how it performs at the range Saturday.  Overall, this is a very light package.. Next up a nice sling for it.

It sounds like your plan is all coming together, can’t wait to see your rifle set up... and especially hear how it shoots.

I really want Tikka to make the 300WM version with a 1/10 twist, the 1/11 makes it a non-starter for me and your model is the Tikka style I’ve wanted to see for a couple
Years.

Quick Range Report -

The rifle shot as advertised and probably shoots better than my 49 YO eyes.  It also performed the best with Barnes VOR-TX, 7mm Remington Magnum, TTSX-BT, 150 rounds.

Interesting tid bits -
That compensator controlled the rifle extremely well. I'm coming from a late 70's early 80's 7mm rem mag Weatherby and that rifle would beat the hell out of your shoulder! This you barely feel recoil
My Daughters Savage .243 kicks harder than this Tikka 7mm mag.  Honestly my daughter had the best shot of the day with the Tikka- split the bullseye at 100. I was always just touching the bulls or just outside it.
Firedot scope was a fan favorite of a few folks that took a shot or two.

Never owned or shot a Tikka that didnt shoot well. I like the color and the fluting on the bolt. That brake is a huge plus too. They did well on this line. Always been a fan of the Sako/Tikka family as well as the 7mm Rem Mag

What are you hunting for?  Deer, antelope, bear, elk?  7mm Rem. Mag is great round.  Mine likes Federal Premium with 175 grain Trophy Bonded Bear rounds for elk.

Update 1.20.21 - Ordered another one of these as a college graduation gift for my Daughter.  Fitting gift for a great accomplishment.  Same rifle, Same caliber.  I'll see about her optic in spring, but that firedot by leuopold was fantastic this past hunting season for me..

If you guys get an opportunity to shoot one of these Tikka --- jump on it.

Holding up fine.. No issues at all, was concerned as I raised and lowered the rifle to the ground during the season, but no issues

Gibbs Custom Gunsmithing LLC - did the cerakote and honestly exceeded my expectations.

I was raised in a "Weatherby" family.  The sun came up and set with that company. "my Dad after finding out about the Tikka-- - Why would you buy a TIKKA?  Weatherby is THE perfect rifle" So, taking a flyer for the Tikka was a big step, but all that have shot it this past fall didn't have a single complaint.

Glad you like the Tikka.  I cancelled my layaway for the Sako and was reeeaaally close to get the Tikka Alpine like you got in 7mmRM.  Ended up getting a Browning X-Bolt only because of the 8" twist rate so I can shoot the big 195gr rounds.  I honestly could have tossed a coin between them, though.

That certainly was another FANTASTIC choice.  I thought long and hard about that x-bolt when I was making my decisions as well, but I think the price scared me away because I knew I was going to have to put a good optic on either rifle.  Same reason I passed on the Christensen Arms.

Look forward to some pics of that setup

Which X-Bolt did you look at?  I ended up getting the Hell's Canyon Long Range.  I really wanted one with the McMillan stock but didn't want to pay $2,000 just for a stock upgrade.  How does the stock feel on the Tikka?  The one thing I don't care all that much for the is stock on the X-Bolt.  The best synthetic hunting stock I've ever felt is the one Winchester had on their Model 70 Ultimate Shadow rifles.  The Browning stock feels cheap compared to, say, my HS Precision stock on my Savage or the Model 70 Ultimate Shadow stock.  The new Tikka stocks like what come on the Alpine are real nice looking.

I was also looking at X-Bolt Hells Canyon in REM 7MM. I was also not even considering the stock upgrade at this stage. Funny thing is if we were talking one of my AR's or MP5's 500-700 would be a no brainer - absolutely add on. I'm slowly evolving my thinking and rolling my collection dollars into my hunting rifles/scopes.

One of the reasons I went with the Tikka was the overall weight.  I really, really like both synthetic stocks on the Tikka and Browning. I'm not a fan of the synthetic magazines... Those feel really cheap to me.

My goal when I started this last summer was to get a nice mid price point light weight hunting rifle with a nice optic.  I achieved both and I truly exceeded my own expectations as well as converted several friends and a good number of my family along the way.  I think I'm all in with Cerekote and rifle for a little less than $2400.  To think many of us have AR scopes or german parts for our HK's that cost as much as a full package.

I have been hunting with the same T3 every year since 2006 in AZ, MO, and WI.  The two mags that I have could almost pass for new.  I wouldn't worry about it.  They are light, but not chinsey.

That thing looks real good out in the field.  My X-Bolt is nice but no doubt I'd give the aesthetics edge to the T3X Apline you have.  That is just a really nice looking rifle.
