Good morning,

I am looking for recommendations for a hand/manually powered grain mill/grinder.

Why not get one that you can hook up to your milwaukee fuel drill, the official drill of the arfcoms?

If you want something of the quality that you know you'll be handing it off to grandkids, Grainmaker is a good choice.  I have the model 99.  There are accessories that enable you to hook up a bicycle kit to it, a grainmaker low speed motor, or a kit for you own d.i.y. 1725 rpm motor.

We have one of these - I just motorized it with a chain and a 24v motor / power supply.  Seems to work good for the price and gets good reviews.

This is the raw product - I took it apart today and stained / sealed the wood so that it wouldn't get gross from the flour.  I also bought some of the correct mounts for the power supply - so when they come the zip ties will be gone.  I used a 24v power supply and a PWM motor controller so the speed is adjustable.  Works great!  To grind flour I found that the stone burrs worked better than the metal ones, and that the speed had to be slow to get a consistent grind.

I've had a Country Living Mill for around 25 years.  No issues, it's built like a tank.

The wondermill jr is also known as the sunshine nugget elsewhere. Call the company if you’re interested in blems.

I bought this one for when power goes out. It works well and I bought a spare handle which I cut the end off of so I can chuck it in my drill. It works really well and gives a very fine grind.
